Bee a Part

One person has the power to make a difference. We see that every day at our school in the dedication of a teacher, in the support of a parent, and the care of a staff member. Now, imagine the difference that comes from the combined power of all Matthews Elementary parents and staff working together. That is the power of the MPTO, and together we can continue to make Matthews Elementary a great place for our children's primary education. How can you make a difference? The MPTO offers numerous volunteer opportunities allowing everyone to find his or her niche. No matter whether you can volunteer once a year or once a week. No matter whether you can participate in one MPTO event or every MPTO event. No matter whether you are able to contribute a little or lot to our fundraising efforts.​

Classroom Buzz

  • Be a room parent helping your child's teacher with various tasks, planning class parties and acting as a liaison between the classroom and the MPTO.
  • Work with the MPTO Clerical Team fulfilling MES teacher requests for copying, laminating, and more.
  • Show our MES staff how much we care through our Staff Hospitality and Staff Appreciation events.
  • Support our Media Center by attending the annual book fairs.

Community Buzz

  • Enjoy all the fun of Stingerfest, our fall school festival of games, raffle, and prizes.
  • Help spruce up our school grounds during our bi-annual Landscaping Days.
  • Support our Spirit Nights at local restaurants and merchants where a percentage of the event's proceeds come back to our school.
  • Participate in our annual Canned Food and Coat Drives.
  • Join us with your family for Bingo Night in January.
  • Cheer on your child's team during Blue & Gold day, the annual field day at the end of the school year.
